This site is a tribute to Steve. He is much loved and will always be remembered.

Stephen Withey was born in West Park, Leeds on 27th September, 1942. Steve was a devoted husband to his wife Kathy and father to his children, and was loved and admired by his many friends and wider family. He found his vocation was in teaching and devoted his life to the welfare of his pupils. He was gifted in relationships and mediation which aided him in the headships of all the schools he ran. Being a typically warm and friendly Yorkshireman he attracted new friends wherever he went. His love of people and travel led him to mastering 6 languages. He loved his Leeds United and socialised with some of the greats on the team in the 1960’s and had an astonishing knowledge about all sports especially football, horse racing, snooker and golf. Steve had a wonderful sense of humour and will be terribly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
